Tech Seoul, a company that operates a new-concept online English news platform and curates global expansion for Korean startups, announced today that it has signed a business agreement with Venture Square, a leading Korean startup media, accelerator, TIPS operator, and VC, to support the global expansion of Korean startups.
In collaboration with Starta VC, Tech Seoul's partner and New York-based top VC, the two companies will select startups from Venture Square's investment portfolio that are interested in entering the US market and regularly host Pitch Contests and Demo Days in New York to support them investment attraction and New York entry.
The two companies will jointly develop additional programs and related businesses to support Korean startups' entry into New York.
Thomas Park, CEO of Tech Seoul said "The collaboration with Venture Square, a leading Korean VC, accelerator, and startup media, will be a great opportunity for Korean startups to enter New York. Through this collaboration, we will be able to provide Korean startups with an opportunity to easily soft-land in New York. Tech Seoul plans to invite about 150 Korean startups to New York by the end of 2025 to support their new beginnings in New York."
Founded in 2010, Venture Square has a portfolio of over 196 investments and plays a key role in the Korean startup ecosystem as an operator of the TIPS program under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Tech Seoul is a company spun off from the in-house venture of the global marketing company East Orion and operates a new concept online English news platform where startups can write and publish their own articles. Tech Seoul also supports global promotion of startups by providing a function to automatically convert text news into English video news using AI technology.
